In order to evaluate revisions that have been withdrawn and thus ensure traceability, a functionality has been created with which the revisions that have been withdrawn and their working copies can be displayed in DC Document Controlling.

 

 

 

Our customers had the problem that documents created by DMS, which were manually entered into the model via the AutoCAD reference manager, could no longer be found by the DMS functions. To solve this problem, a function was implemented that searches for the document in the system path, reloads it into the DMS and can thus rewrite the ACAD reference.

Furthermore, a new topic ADT (AutoCAD Architectural Desktop) was introduced for the use of Navisworks for controlled application editing in DMS.

With the development of a PLM reference manager, document paths referenced in DMS AutoCAD can be changed and adapted to the DMS system.

A new function to start a DWG file without an application in a topic was developed.

 

 

In DMS, a topic is defined for editing a file. This topic defines the controlled editing of a document with a specific application. However, there is a requirement to start files in DMS for editing without an application in a topic, e.g. for inserting labels and instructions in an AutoCAD model, without having to completely load the applications with their control mechanisms. This simplifies and speeds up editing. With the new function "Start file", a flag in the table now determines whether the start should be carried out without or with the PLM Control application.

Navisworks revision in DMS

The development of a new Planet Plugin for Navisworks provides an extension of the functionalities in the DMS revision process with regard to the use of PLM NAV. This makes it possible to display different trades with different revision statuses.

 

Until now, only the Navisworks NWF work files were available in DMS. With the help of the new Navisworks plugin, a current NWD file is now created in the DMS revision procedure and stored in the revision directory. This is done via an external control from DMS with the help of a special revision dialogue.

The quick search we developed was based on a workshop and frequent requests from our customers. The search for documents in DMS was thus considerably simplified and accelerated.

The problem is the document numbers used by the customer. Until now, a correct entry with all special characters and spaces was required to find the documents. The newly developed search algorithm ignores all spaces and special characters, all documents found with the search term are listed in the DMS Grid. In this grid, there is also the option of further filtering and grouping the search results.

PLM DMS - Extension of the DMS revision release procedure

The PLM DMS revision release procedure has been enhanced with additional functionalities such as project processing phases and the document purpose.

This ensures a controlled workflow in the processing and testing of documents along the project processing phases. The testing and verification run is stored in a redlining ....RL.PDF document in DMS.

A PLM ToDo regulates the process of document testing in a template.

Selection records in DMS are controlled via a structure tree, which is divided into a "project structure" and an individual "user structure".

Analogous to this, the structure tree in PLM Office has been extended, which now offers improved sorting options for all Office objects such as email, fax, transmittal, appointments, protocols etc. The extended structure tree can now also be used in the mail wizard. The Mailwizard is part of the PLM Outlook plug-in and is used for exporting emails to PLM Office.
