The development of a new Planet Plugin for Navisworks provides an extension of the functionalities in the DMS revision process with regard to the use of PLM NAV. This makes it possible to display different trades with different revision statuses.

 

Until now, only the Navisworks NWF work files were available in DMS. With the help of the new Navisworks plugin, a current NWD file is now created in the DMS revision procedure and stored in the revision directory. This is done via an external control from DMS with the help of a special revision dialogue.

The quick search we developed was based on a workshop and frequent requests from our customers. The search for documents in DMS was thus considerably simplified and accelerated.

The problem is the document numbers used by the customer. Until now, a correct entry with all special characters and spaces was required to find the documents. The newly developed search algorithm ignores all spaces and special characters, all documents found with the search term are listed in the DMS Grid. In this grid, there is also the option of further filtering and grouping the search results.

The existing quick selection for exporting files from DMS has been extended by a function with which additional documents can be transferred beyond the revision.

These additional documents can be, for example, PDF original, redlining (RL), comment (CM) and testate (T). This additional functionality appears in a dialogue that can also be used for transmittal creation, i.e. both input and return transmittal. The transfer of the additional documents can also be made to an existing Transmittal or to a new ToDo to be created.

Upon receipt of documents to be processed, a transmittal is generated with sender, recipient, transfer report, etc. This transmittal takes over control in PLM. This transmittal takes over the control in PLM.

After receiving the files to be processed, they are checked into DMS via DCI and linked to the transmittal. The audit documents are subject to the normal audit run for an external audit. When the review run is complete and all documents are certified, a new transmittal is generated for dispatch, with the sender and recipient now swapped. The advantage is that all incoming documents remain as a group and can be called up as a group in DMS.

Tasks in "ToDo Redlining" receive a primary colour assignment

The ToDo for redlining has been extended with functionalities that enable visual highlighting in the form of different colours to the user.

For this purpose, various templates for the ToDo, the ToDo control, the redlining and the configuration must be adapted. Tasks in the ToDo are identified by a primary colour assignment. The primary colour is taken from the workflow configuration. For the actual redlining, secondary colours can be defined to highlight changes in the drawing PDF.
