The concept of Planet is based on a consistent and central database model on the basis of object-oriented programming for the acquisition of all process engineering elements and components with linking of the associated technical and drawing data and documents.

 Due to the different views (function plan, EMSR, schematics, 3D and isometrics) and interfaces to calculation programs, special applications (steel construction) and ERP systems for resource planning, the entire engineering workflow is united in one system. The module-oriented structure of our solutions can be individually adapted to the most diverse industries and users, from small engineering offices to EPC general contractors, energy and chemical companies.

Since 1984, Planet GmbH has specialised in software development and services for process engineering or pipeline-supported plant construction. Our tailor-made solutions cover the whole range of tasks in plant engineering, be it detailed process engineering planning, 3D layout design, processing of parts lists, handling of isometrics or tasks in project management, construction, calculation and preparation of AsBuilt documentation. Historically, the software solutions of Planet GmbH have been developed as tools for power plant construction. This means that we have more than thirty years of experience in dealing with the high demands of planning and design in power plant construction. Our target group ranges from the operators of coal, gas, oil and nuclear power plants to biogas and waste incineration plants. Chemistry & Pharmacy

The solutions of the PLM Planet product range accompany the complete life cycle of a chemical plant, ranging from the planning of new plants, construction, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, repair, documentation management and project management to decommissioning. Planet Engineering solutions are further designed for planning, design, construction, maintenance, documentation within large-scale and comprehensive projects in the oil and gas industry. Such engineering projects range from oil refineries, gas processing, gas storage and petrochemical plants to offshore oil platforms.
Here, too, we pursue the concept of an integrated database solution for the management of all information within the scope of the complete life cycle of a plant. Smelting works

Based on its history, Planet Software has been developed especially for the requirements of pipeline-supported plant construction such as power plants. This one-sided focus on one target group has now been abandoned in favour of newer topics and applications. Our extended range of services is now directed in particular at all operators of process engineering plants. The metallurgical plants are to be mentioned here as examples for all of them. The benefit of such solutions lies in the areas of document, maintenance and project management. Further possible applications of Planet's PLM solutions are, for example, the implementation of planning projects for turnkey brewery or beverage plants or the conversion and expansion of existing breweries. The recording of process engineering components, parts, drawings, diagrams, technical specifications in a database-supported system offers plant operators a tool for planning and controlling all production and maintenance processes. PLM-Planet Stadtwerke offers companies in the energy, utility, waste disposal and water industry a sophisticated IT solution for engineering, document, maintenance and asset management of plants. It is divided into sector-specific application modules for electricity, gas / oil, water and district heating. In addition, all information is recorded in our system in a structured manner and assigned to the areas of location, functional world and factual data. The local world includes all geometric data and information linked to the location or installation site. The functional world consists of process engineering (flow diagrams), circuit topology, circuit diagram electrical engineering, EMSR and the operating manual. Environmental technology to sewage sludge incineration

Conventional and nuclear dismantling

Due to the reactor accidents in Fukushima, Japan, in March 2011, the German government initiated an energy turnaround with the result of an accelerated phase-out of nuclear energy. Decommissioning has thus become the central topic of the next decades. The decommissioning of a nuclear power plant can take 10 to 15 years and comprises different phases such as dismantling of components such as generator, turbine, piping, cleaning of elements slightly contaminated with radioactivity, dismantling of components in the pressure reduction system and reactor building, dismantling of more heavily contaminated parts such as the reactor pressure vessel, safe enclosure of the contaminated parts, recording and testing of contamination of parts of the building, demolition of the engine room and reactor building, removal of the waste and recultivation of the power plant site. Decommissioning may also include new construction, since the handling of the above processes requires the remaining operation of remaining infrastructure systems for heat, ventilation, water treatment and control. Planet has been meeting the complexity of these tasks, in particular due to the strict guidelines of the Atomic Energy and Immission Control Act, for several years now by developing a solution specially designed for deconstruction.
